Flexible volunteering

Make a difference

{

This is a beautiful initiative & very flexible, which is an advantage as I don’t have all the time I wish but at least I can took a little once a week.

Have any Questions?

Do I need to cook everyday?
No! We understand that people are busy and Brighton Cooking Club is a flexible volunteering project so you can cook as much or as little as you want to. We notify volunteers of any new requests for help and it is completely up to you if you step forward. We do try and arrange regular meal arrangements to ensure consistency for the person cooking as well as the recipients.
I don't have WhatsApp will this be an issue?

Not at all, simply let your Area Coordinator know and they will make sure they keep in touch with any opportunities they think could be a good match for you.

What type of food do I need to cook?

Everyone has different tastes and we ask all those receiving meals if they have any dietary requirements and things they really like to eat when they sign up. However, the idea of Brighton Cooking Club is that you are making an extra portion, so hopefully you will find something that you both like to eat. Many of our cooks have commented on how they enjoy the challenge of cooking different things.

How does my extra portion get to the person I am cooking for?

Most volunteer cooks deliver the meals themselves. 9/10 the cooks and recipients live near to each other. In the event that a cook cannot deliver, the team coordinators will arrange transport.
